Gluten-free Rice Krispies are made by Kellog’s or Safeway’s generic brand.
Rice Krispy Treats
recipe adapted from all the old Rice Krispy Boxes
1 batch of homemade marshmallow fluff
6 1/2 cups rice krispies
Holiday Sprinkles (optional)
Coat a 9×13″ pan with Crisco (lard, shortening, etc.). Set aside.
Make the fluff according to the directions. Pour the cereal directly into the fluff and stir. Dig deep and mix until all of the cereal is coated with gooey whiteness. Add sprinkles and mix.
Pour the marshmallow cereal mix into the pan. With buttered hands, pat the mixture flat and even.
Set aside for 2 hours. Cut with a greased knife – we use coconut oil to grease our knife, and enjoy!
Makes approx 16 treats.
Storing: Because these treats are extra ooey-gooey, we recommended wrapping them individually in Seran wrap before storing.
