{Tip} Semi-homemade Chicken Broth

WP_20130604_006 Nothing is worse than running out of something you need when someone is sick; especially when that something is chicken broth.

Here is a quick, semi-homemade recipe we use when making homemade broth isn’t feasible.

2 tsp Organic Better Than Bouillon Chicken Base
2 cups of water
Herbs of choice: 1/2 tsp grated fresh/dry ginger; 1 grated garlic clove/1/4 tsp garlic powder; pinch of oregano; pinch of thyme
Pinch of sea salt

In a small pot on the stove, combine everything but the herbs and salt. Bring to a boil and stir to dissolve the Chicken Base.  Once the Base is dissolved, add the herbs, making sure to crush any dry herbs before adding them. Stir in herbs and let boil for another minute.

Remove from heat and pour into your favorite mug, add salt and enjoy!  If the broth is too salty, divide the broth into two cups and add a cup of boiling water to one of the mugs.
