One of my husband’s favorite ice creams is Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey; so when I found a recipe for a Chunky Monkey Smoothie, I knew I had to make it. And yes, it tastes just like a Chunky Monkey 🙂
Chunky Monkey Smoothie
adapted from an internet recipe – source unknown
2-3 bananas* – approx. 1 1/2 bananas per person
3 Tbsp Hersey’s Dark Cocoa Powder – Any cocoa powder will work
3 cups rice milk, plus extra for thinning – substitute with any dairy-free milk on hand
1-2 Tbsp peanut butter
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend on High until fully incorporated (approx. 1-2 minutes). If the smoothie appears to be too thick, and the blender is having difficulties mixing, add a 1/2 a cup of milk at a time until it reaches the constancy you like.
Serve in your favorite cup and enjoy!
*If you are using frozen bananas, remove from freezer and warm them on the counter, or microwave them for 5-10 seconds. Then peel back the skin and use.
