Sweet Cream Cheese – can be made dairy-free & corn-free!

For me nothing tops toast, cupcakes, muffins, or bagels better than sweet cream cheese! The best part of this recipe is that it can be adapted to fit any dietary need!

Here is how you make it:

1 8oz pkg Philadelphia Cream Cheese – for dairy-free, substitute this for 1 tub of Tofu Cream Cheese or any vegan cream cheese
1/4-1/2 c Rice Milk – you can use heavy cream or any non-dairy milk you desire.  Using coconut milk will change the taste of the cream.
1/8-1/4 c Powdered sugar – for corn-free substitute for corn-free powdered sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla (optional)

Using either a stand mixer or a hand mixer, in a medium to large bowl mix together ingredients until thoroughly combine, scraping down the sides as you go..  We use about 1/4 c of powder sugar to compliment the cream cheese. If you prefer the tartness of the cream cheese to stand out, use less sugar.

Mix until the cream has the consistency of frosting.  If the mixture it too thick, add 1 Tbps of milk at a time until the desired thickness is reached.

Once the cream has the right consistency taste it, if it needs more sweetness, add a bit more powder sugar and remix. Continue test tasting and adding sugar until the desired sweetness is reached.

Scrape into your serving bowl or plop onto your favorite treat! Check out our variations below for more ideas!

Makes 1-2 cups

Store in an air tight container in the fridge. Stored this way, the sweet cream will last for a few weeks.

Add a touch of vanilla to balance out the creaminess of the cheese and the sweetness of the sugar

Add a pinch or two of cinnamon to create cinnamon sweet cream cheese.

A tsp of chocolate powder for chocolate cream cheese
