Cinnamon Honey Apples

One of my families favorite things are cinnamon honey apples warm out of the pot.

Just don’t tell them that it is good for them 😉

Here it is; my notes are in italics:

Cinnamon Honey Apples

2-3 apples of your choice, washed and diced small – we like small Galas
1-2 tsp of cinnamon, to taste
Honey – you can substitute Agave

In a small pot place diced apples, and sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples, just enough to coat them  evenly.

Using a spoon, drizzle the honey around and across the pot two times.  Do it once more if you are using tart apples, or desire more sweetness.

Add enough water to the pot to barely cover apples.

Cook the apples over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook the apples for 2 to 3 minutes, or until they are fork tender.

Using a blotted spoon, or a wire label, remove the apples n serve.

Serves: 1-5 people, depending on the size of your apples

Store in an air tight container in the fridge.  These apples can keep in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.

 

Variation:  Instead of honey, try adding a bit of caramel sauce to make cinnamon caramel apples.
