Bunless Hot Dogs

I don’t know about you, but I find gluten-free hot dog buns to either be too expensive , to involved to make, or just down right gross.

So to solve the longing ketchup wedged between bread and meat, we created our own bunless hot dogs. Granted, there is no bread, but it does quell the craving for ketchup wedged in something!

My daughters love stuffing their hotdogs with different things, including pineapple and ketchup 🙂 These dogs are simple to make and so much fun!

Bunless Hot Dogs

1-2 packages (enough to feed you and your guests) of Farmer John’s Turkey Dogs Farmer John’s hot dogs are gluten-free, these can be substituted for another gluten-free brand
Your favorite sides (ketchup, mustard, grilled onions, chili, etc

Fill a medium to large sauce pan with water. Bring to a boil and add hot dogs. Boil the hot dogs until they are nice and plump, approx. 5-6 minutes. If your hot dogs are frozen, add another 5-10 minutes to the cook time. 

Using a fork, or tongs, remove the hot dogs to your awaiting plate. Using a sharp knife, and a fork to secure the hot dog,  cut 1/2 was down the middle of the hot dog.

Add your favorite toppings into the middle of the dog and serve!

Serve with fruit, veggies, fries, or just eat on their own.

Makes 1-16 dogs.
